So this is my first post ever, so please bare with me...
My first relaxer was for my 8th grade graduation in 2005. The primary reason why I got a relaxer was because my har was short, and they didn't know what to with my hair to have it grow, so they realxed it.
After I got my relaxer, my hair actually started to grow nicely, until my cousin decided to change my relaxer from Just For Me to Optimum....That was the worst mistake ever!
This picture is during my church's banquet in 2006...My hair grew alot compared to how it was the first time I got a perm.
My hair began to break off because the relaxer did not go well with my hair and I had to cut my hair.

Then I switched back to Just for Me. My hair began to grow again, until I put in tracks/weave in my hair for my 17th birthday. It broke off my hair, and I had to get a really short cut in the summer of 2008.

My hair started growing back little by little, but not as much as I really wanted it to grow....So affter watching Tyra banks "Good Hair"episode, I decided to go natural. But the thing is that I never really hated my natural hair, I just wanted it to grow long. I always said that after my hair grows really long with a relaxer, I would go natural. Then I realzed that its easier to go natural with shorter than longer, becuase there wouldn't be much hair to cut off, the hair cut wouldn't be so drastic.
So my last perm was the day before prom, June 7, 2009. Since then, my natural hair has grown to almost 3 inches. I've done transitioning hairtyles such as kinky twists and bantu knots/ chiney bumps. For the bantu knots (I like that term better than chiney bumps), I would bump it at night, leave it in for like 2 days (under a beanie!..I hated how it looked on me), and then I would take it out and style it.
Prom 2009

This is a month after prom after I chose to go natural.
Here are some photos of the end-product of the bantu knots:
As of know, I have my hair in kinky twists, and I plan to BC my relaxed ends when I take out my braids in May/June.
